Trains cancelled, schools shut as heavy rains flood Blue City

Jodhpur: Heavy rains in Jodhpur city for the last few days have crippled normal life. As a result, the administration has ordered the closure of schools and colleges and advised civilians not to venture outside. The flood waters were seen gushing through the streets of the Blue City, making parked cars float in some areas.

The torrential rain in the city which started on Monday around 7 PM continued for nearly five hours due to which the roads were waterlogged and over 30 colonies were flooded, according to a report by media. District collector Himanshu Gupta ordered the closure of the schools. Two trains were cancelled. Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat took feedback from the collector.
