Tourism calendar to have Meera Mahotsav, says Diya

Merta: During her visit to Merta, Dy CM Diya Kumari announced that Merta’s ‘Meera Mahotsav’ will soon be included in State Tourism calendar. She instructed Tourism Dept officials about it. The Meera Mahotsav has been celebrated for the past 525 years. There had been ongoing demands to include the festival in the calendar. “Meera Bai chose the path of devotion. We are fortunate that she was born in Rajasthan. Today’s generation is, however, forgetting this cultural heritage, so efforts will be made to preserve her legacy,” Diya said.
