Tigress T-118 goes missing from R’bore

Sawai Madhopur: Following the death of Tiger T-57 in Ranthambore National Park, now tigress T-118 ‘Varsha’ has gone missing from the park.

Sources informed the tigress was last spotted on CCTV on December 16, 2022, and has been missing since then. The tigress T-118 is an inhabitant of Mandrayal Range in second division.

Notably, a tiger and two tigresses had gone missing from the Mandrayal range in the recent past. Tigress T-118’s mother Tigress T-92 ‘Sundari’ had also gone missing five years ago. Similarly, Tiger Sultan T-72 disappeared mysteriously about a year ago and now Tigress T-118 has gone missing. Tigress T-118 had given birth to two cubs two years ago.

On Tuesday, after struggling for 20 days, Ranthambore’s Tiger T-57, also known as Singhsth, had died after he fell sick.

Officials informed that the Special Tiger Tracking Team of the Forest Department is closely monitoring the forest area and trying to locate the missing tigress.
