Tiger Ustad belongs to forest, not enclosure, say activists

Jaipur: After facing stigma of being maneater, there has been a demand once again among wildlife lovers regarding release of tiger T24 alias Ustad, who was shifted to confinement at Sajjangarh Biological Park seven years ago on May 16, 2015.

Ustad, who ruled forest of Ranthambore, was accused of killing four people, it is a different matter that till date none of these incidents confirmed. Born in 2006 in Lahpur area of Ranthambore, Ustad has two brothers T23 and T25. His grandmother was tigress Machhli. State Wildlife Board members Dhirendra Godha & Simrat Sandhu say Ustad was charged with four murders but none of these were proved.

NTCA and CZA have considered it wrong to keep Ustad under locks. There have been debates on this subject in the past but till date no clear policy made.
