Soldier injured in gunfight, dies during treatment

Jhunjhunu: Indian army soldier Satpal Singh, who was injured in a gunfight when a suspected suicide group tried to enter an Army camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district a few days ago, died during treatment on Sunday. Hawaldar Satpal Singh, a resident of Jaitpur village in Jhunjhunu district, breathed last at a hospital in Udhampur on Saturday. Sources informed that Satpal Singh underwent an operation, but could not recover. His mortal remains will be brought to his native village on today, following which, he will be cremated with full state honours. Satpal Singh last visited his house on July 3 this year. Meanwhile, his family members have been informed and a pall of gloom has descended in the entire village. Singh had come to his village for the last time on July 3. Satpal He was injured in the attack on the intervening night of 10-11 August.
