Smuggler carrying Rs 25K bounty killed in police encounter in Barmer

Barmer: In Barmer district on Friday, cops shot down a wanted smuggler under Gida police station area in an encounter while leaving one injured.

Police, however, confirmed the encounter on its official twitter handle but till the last report official confirmation of the death was awaited. Police identified the smugglers as Omprakash Jat, now dead and Koshlaram Jat. Meanwhile, initially, soon after the incident police, on its official twitter handle, had declared the death of both smugglers but later deleted the tweet. Meanwhile, sources close to the development said that the condition of the injured smuggler was claimed to be out of danger.

According to the police one smuggler had a cash reward of Rs 50,000 on his name while another had a bounty of rupees twenty five thousand.
