Six cops hurt in firing in Udaipur

Udaipur: An SHO and five other policemen sustained bullet injuries in Gogunda town of Udaipur district on Thursday after the team tried to nab a hardcore criminal.

Police informed that Mandwa SHO Uttam Singh, ASI Suraj Mal and four other policemen had gone to arrest hardcore criminal Raniya while he had come to his home in Kukawas area after attending a condolence meet at her sister’s residence.

“Based on specific inputs, the team raided the house to arrest Raniya. However, members of the Raniya gang and villagers attacked the policemen. The accused started firing on the cops, during which, Mandwa SHO Uttam Singh was injured. ,” police said.
