Sikar will be developed as a Solar hub, says UDH Min Kharra

Sikar: Solar plants will be installed at the rooftops of the homes of one crore people across the country under ‘Suryodaya Yojana.’ UDH Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the work of providing electricity to every household will be given priority by the government through Suryodaya Yojana. He said that Sikar has been selected under this scheme as a ‘Pilot Project.’ He added that solar energy is much cheaper than other energy sources, keeping this in mind, under the Suryodaya Yojana, a subsidy of Rs 18,000 per kilowatt is being given by the GoI for setting up solar plants up to 3 kilowatts.

AVVNL Ajmer MD, NS Nirvana said that through this project, electricity will be provided to every household in Sikar & rooftop solar plants will be installed at roofs of 1,000 houses by March 2024 under the scheme.
