SHO and ASI suspended in Kota self-immolation case

Kota: Nayapura SHO and an ASI of the police station have been suspended in the case of self-immolation of youth in the Nayapura police station. The action was taken by the City SP Kesar Singh Shekhawat on Friday after a youth tried to burn himself by sprinkling petrol. After this, BJP workers protested in front of Nayapura police station & burnt effigies. Protesters allege that youth was troubled by harassment of Radheshyam, a Cong councillor. Meanwhile, information has been received that Radheshyam has attempted suicide once before, & he is habitual alcoholic.

In the police station, both Radheshyam and the councillor had filed complaints against each other, which were under investigation. At present, Radheshyam is undergoing treatment in Jaipur hospital where he has received 35% burns on his body. Deputy Leader of Opposition, Rajendra Rathore has posted a video of a youth attempting self-immolation in Kota’s Nayapura police station and tweeted that CM Gehlot has proved to be the most unsuccessful Home Min of state. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also questioned the incident. “Suicide cannot be supported under any circumstances. Self-immolation bid by a person at Nayapura police station area and the name of a Congress councilor in incident is serious,” he said.
