Sarpanch’s daughter saves 4 lives

Jodhpur: A successful cadaver heart transplant was done at SMS Hospital on Sunday after a heart and a kidney were brought to the hospital by creating a green corridor by air from Jodhpur AIIMS. The organs were of a 25-year-old Anita, who was brought to AIIMS Hospital in Jodhpur after a road accident and was declared brain dead on July 18. Later, her family gave consent for organ donation.

Anita’s heart , kidney and liver were functioning. SMS Hospital Jaipur was contacted where one patient needed a heart and another patient needed a kidney. A team of doctors including Dr Sanjeev Devgarha, HOD of CTVS department Dr. Rajkumar Yadav performed heart surgery.

Anita’s other kidney and liver are being transplanted in AIIMS hospital itself.

After the decision to donate organs, a team of policemen remained deployed in the hospital under the leadership of AIIMS outpost incharge Dhanaram. The team led by Basni SI Suresh Kumar created a corridor outside AIIMS, from where Heart was sent to the airport along with police vehicles.
