Sanitation workers play a vital role in nation building, says CM
Jaipur: CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, while speaking at a welcome ceremony by the Sanyukt Valmiki Evam Safai Shramik Sangh, stressed the crucial role of sanitation workers in nation-building and their significant contribution to a clean and healthy environment. He announced the simplification of recruitment rules for approximately 24,000 sanitation workers in municipal bodies, ensuring transparent hiring via lottery system.
He criticised the previous govt for delaying recruitments, noting that his administration had hired over 21,000 sanitation workers since 2018. He pledged free medical treatment for lung, kidney, and skin diseases under the RGHS scheme and assured land for a Valmiki community hostel. The CM announced plans to fill 100,000 positions this year and 400,000 over the next 5 years, expressing confidence that Rajasthan would excel in the Cleanliness Survey.
