RLP, BJP stages demo in Baytu over removal of SHO

Barmer: Removal of a station house officer in Barmer triggered tension at Baytu town in the district. Opposing the decision of removal, two opposition parties BJP and RLP called a day bandh and demanded to withdraw the decision. However there was mixed reaction to the bandh as people supporting Congress had avoided the call.

Notably, on Saturday IG Jodhpur range had sent the Baytu SHO Omprakash Choudhary to police line and deputed Baldev Choudhary at Baytu. This created political clash among BJP, RLP and Congress.

After staging the dharna, a memorandum demanding cancellation of removal was given to sub-divisional officer. They claimed that since the Choudhary took charge, there were panic among the smugglers. SHO did not hesitate in taking action against ruling party leaders, due to which he got political punishment.
