Reservation demands conveyed to govt: DC

Bharatpur: The people from five communities are demanding 12 per cent separate reservation under the banner of Saini Mali Kushwaha Shakya Maurya Arakshan Sangarsh Samiti’.

District Collector Alok Ranjan said the agitators’ demand has been conveyed to the government at the top level. The leaders of the agitation said these castes are currently included in the OBC category, which has many other classes due to which these communities are not getting the benefit.

“Our demand for reservation should be met and a separate quota be given to us. If needed, we will also block the rail routes in Bharatpur and Dholpur,” said Badan Singh, general secretary of samiti.
