Rathore demands action in ‘slapgate’, condemns attack

Pali: BJP State President and Rajya Sabha MP Madan Rathore was on a visit to Pali on Sunday listened to the grievances of party workers and the general public at his residence and directed the concerned officials to resolve these issues. Responding to media questions, Rathore clarified that the incident in Samravata village, Deoli-Uniara, took place during voting while the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) was in effect, and the Election Commission was carrying out its duties. He mentioned that the assault took place within the voting premises, which comes under the Election Commission’s protection therefore the commission would take appropriate action. Rathore further stated that the police had arrested the accused and sent them into judicial custody, while steps were being taken to maintain peace and order in the area. He added that once the MCC is lifted, if needed, the govt will assess the losses incurred by innocent people and provide assistance as per the rules.

Rathore also strongly condemned the attack on Mahant Suresh Giri of Ganesh Temple, Naga Baba Baghichi, located in Pali city, and instructed authorities to take swift and strict action against the culprits. Later, he visited Bangad Hospital to meet Mahant Giri and inquired about his health.
