Public punished Gehlot for his sin of doing politics over water: Shekhawat

Jodhpur: Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat accused former CM Ashok Gehlot of playing politics on the issue of water scarcity, saying that the public has punished him for the sin.

Referring to the MoU between Rajasthan and MP on ERCP in Delhi, he said in Jodhpur, “Gehlot will certainly have to face the consequences of this sin. The public has punished him for this sin of doing politics on water,” Shekhawat said. He said that in absence of an agreement between Rajasthan and MP & also because of the stubbornness of Gehlot govt, the project couldn’t move forward. “We have held discussions with hydrology experts from across the nation & engineers from MP and Rajasthan. We considered a project to integrate the ParbatiKalisindh-Chambal project and the ERCP by connecting two rivers, benefiting both states.”
