Police seizes brown sugar worth Rs 1 Cr in Pratapgarh, arrests 2
Pratapgarh: In a major action against brown sugar smugglers under the direction of SP Amit Kumar, two smugglers have been arrested with brown sugar worth Rs 1 crore from Pratapgarh area.
A total of 206 grams of brown sugar has been recovered from the. Police have seized a two-wheeler being used for smuggling. The two accused have been identified as Mahesh Pal Garadia, resident of Indore, Madhya Pradesh and Devendra Thakur, resident of Akodia Mandi and have been apprehended.
Police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) Act. Under the leadership of Kotri police station officer Nirbhay Singh, action was taken by the FST team.
