Police busy spying on leaders instead of keeping an eye on terrorists: Raje
Jodhpur: Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Wednesday accused the state government of spying on political leaders and said that had the Gehlot administration used the police machinery for maintaining law and order, the Udaipur terror incident would have been averted.
“There would not have been a terrorist incident in Udaipur if the Gehlot administration had employed the police to maintain the law and order situation rather than spying on MLAs, Ministers, and opposition leaders,” Raje said.
While speaking to media persons at circuit house in Jodhpur, the Raje said that outdated policing will not work now.
“The police system will have to be modernised and new equipment will have to be bought. If the work of the Abhay Command Center of our time had been carried forward, then incidents like Udaipur could not have happened,” said Vasundhara Raje.
She was accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP Rajendra Gehlot.
The two-day visit of former CM Vasundhara Raje to Jodhpur, the hometown of CM Ashok Gehlot and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, is in the news.
