Pilot expresses concern over crop damage due to heavy rains

Tonk: Congress leader Sachin Pilot during his day-long visit to Tonk on Tuesday, expressed concern over damage to crops due to excessive rain in as he assessed losses in his Assembly constituency Tonk. He said many parts of the state received excessive rain due to which farmers suffered losses. He inspected about half a dozen villages and also took stock of the crop damage. He had a one-to-one interaction with the farmers and discussed the situation. “It is our effort that farmers get maximum financial assistance in this challenging time. Not just in Tonk, many districts in the Hadoti region are receiving rain,” Pilot told reporters. He directed officials to ensure timely assessment of crop loss and compensation for it. He also met the party workers at the Circuit House. Pilot spoke to the District Collector of Tonk, Chinmayi Gopal and inquired about the development works going on in the district. He said there is also a shortage of fertilisers and he has asked the Agriculture Department to provide relief to farmers.
