People protest against shifting of thermal unit

Jhalawar: Protests persist over the third unit of Kalisindh Thermal Power Plant Jhalawar. Kalisindh Thermal Bachao Samiti has been established. Thermal Bachao posters have been placed up throughout the city, and a signature campaign is underway.

People across the district are protesting the third unit being transported to Chhattisgarh through conspiracy. The power production is 1200 MW, and four units can be placed here, as there are sufficient resources such as land, power, and water. During a recent visit, the Energy Minister stated that an 800 MW critical unit may be built near coal mines. Protests continue following this remark.
