Pant was Dist Collector at the time of Pokhran II nuclear test

Jaisalmer: CS Sudhansh Pant was the then District Collector of Jaisalmer at the time of historic nuclear testing in Pokhran. The whole world had seen India’s power with N tests on May 11 & 13, 1998. Countries including the US were left stunned when AB Vajpyee govt conducted test.

The biggest challenge was to complete the nuclear operation by avoiding ‘Eye in the Sky’. The tests were done by nuclear scientist Dr APJ Abdul Kalam who later became the President of India.

Meanwhile, CS Sudhansh Pant reached Jaipur from Delhi by Indigo flight number 6E 2204. However, the flight operated from Delhi was delayed. The CS reached Jaipur Airport after around 6 o’clock.
