OVER 30 COLONIES STILL FLOODED, 600 TRAPED AS RESCUE OPS ON

Jodhpur: Rain finally stopped here after four days but more than 30 colonies are flooded, including 130 houses in New Roop Nagar. Another 600 people in Derby Colony are confined to their houses as the area is flooded. Water is accumulated in Kharbooja Bawdi and other areas as well. Army is roped in for help in New Roop Nagar in BJS Colony after which water level receded. Derby Colony is inundated with up to 6 ft of water. People are being shifted to schools & tents from here.

Police & RAC are deployed in the rescue work here. A resident, Lilavati, said the water level was up to the waist and it was difficult to venture out.
