Oppn should have been consulted before forming panel: Gehlot

Phalodi: Questioning the intention of the Central government regarding ‘One Nation, One Election’, CM Ashok Gehlot on Sunday said that before forming a committee, the Opposition should have been taken along. “Earlier, the Election Commission, Law Commission, Parliamentary Committee have given recommendations many times. For such a big decision, if the Opposition parties were taken along, everyone would have decided together. After that, if you had formed a committee, people would have believed,” he said while addressing the public meeting at Major Shaitan Singh Stadium during the Rajiv Gandhi Rural and Urban Olympic Games.

CM reached Phalodi for the first time after the formation of the district. “I have fulfilled the promise I had made to you to make the district. Phalodi has a huge contribution in who I am today and I am very happy to find myself among you today,” he said.
