NGT team reaches Kota to look into Chambal River Front Project

Kota: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) Central Zone Bhopal team arrived in Kota on Wednesday for a crucial two-day inspection of the heritage Chambal River Front, a grand project nestled along the banks of the Chambal River.

The objective of the visit is to scrutinize whether the riverfront development adheres to regulations and whether it poses any threat to the nearby crocodile sanctuary. The NGT will compile its findings and present them in court.

The Chambal River Front, a Rs 1,442 crore project, has faced allegations of irregularities and rule violations. Former MLA Prahlad Gunjal raised concerns, and a complaint was filed with the NGT Central Zone by Dhrupad Malik and others against UIT and Architect Company.
