Minor girl murdered after ‘rape’ in Dungarpur

Dungarpur: A dead body of a 10-year-old minor girl was found under mysterious circumstances in Dungarpur’s Sadar Police Station Area on Thursday. Police informed the victim was possibly raped and then murdered by the accused. “The accused has been identified as Jitendra Katara (30), who is the grandson of a former village Sarpanch. The girl’s body had injury marks including ones on her private parts. It is suspected that the accused raped and then murdered her,” police said. “The girl was lying naked under a bridge located near the village. Her body was taken to Dungarpur District Hospital, following which, a medical board was constituted and post-mortem was conducted. The body was handed over to the family members of the deceased after the post-mortem.
