Martyr cremated with State honours

Jhunjhunu: The body of Havildar Satpal Singh, who was martyred in a terrorist encounter, was consigned to flames on Tuesday. The mortal remains of Singh reached Buhana from New Delhi on Monday night and was then brought to his native village in Jaitpur. School children and villagers bid adieu by showering flowers on the way.

Soldier Welfare Minister Rajendra Singh Gudda, Surajgarh MLA Subhash Poonia, District Collector Laxman Singh Kudi, SP Mridul Kachhawa and Army officers paid tributes. Jaipur contingent of Army’s 22nd Guards Regiment Raj Rif was also present. Singh’s elder brother, who is posted in the glacier, consoled the family.
