MAN OF MASSES, GEHLOT BUILDS A ‘CONNECT’ WITH PEOPLE IN HOMETOWN!

Jodhpur: During the three-day visit to his hometown amid speculation of being active in national politics, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot once again gave a political message to the people of the state in Jodhpur that he would continue to serve them till his last breath. Not only this, he said, “Whatever the people of Jodhpur ask for, they will get it. Gehlot addressed people’s concerns familiarly during a public hearing and instructed the concerned officials to resolve them at the earliest. The focus of the Chief Minister was on fulfilling social concerns as well as on building a direct connection with the public as well as with the Congress leaders, as he wants to strengthen his stronghold before the Assembly elections in a way.

The Chief Minister’s three-day tour started with the inauguration of the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Olympic Games 2022 in Jodhpur’s Luni constituency. The Chief M inister also attended the Foundation Day programme of Sumer School of Mali community and tried to strengthen his vote bank by meeting people. In another programme, CM Gehlot expressed concern about the environment and also mentioned about those who sacrificed their lives to save Khejri trees. Later, along with laying the foundation stones for various development works, the CM took information from Jodhpur Collector Himanshu Gupta about all the projects including the prestigious Elevated Road Project being developed in the Sun City. Gehlot wants that the development works announced in the State Budget should be completed before the elections, so he is monitoring the development works worth billions of rupees in Jodhpur.

At the same time, Gehlot during his tour to his hometown, during the two-hour long ‘Janta Durbar’ held at the Circuit House, didn’t leave any stone unturned to lend a patient ear to the masses and heard each one of them. Not only this, the demands of the complainants were accepted aftert few hours of the public meeting. Besides, the Chief Minister also desires that the people should be benefitted from all government schemes. For this, along with giving responsibility to the public representatives, he also reprimanded them for not reaching out to the public. He said that BJP government closed the refinery project and delayed it by 5 years. With this, the project worth Rs 40,000 cr will now cost about Rs 70-72,000 crore. “We never stopped the work of the BJP government. We have never stopped the works of public interest,” he said. Attacking the Centre, he said that the CBI, Income Tax, ED are working under the Centre’s pressure.
