‘Mahadev helps us conquer our sorrows and pain’

Kota: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla participated in various programmes on the occasion of Maha Shivratri on Saturday. He said that Mahadev helps us conquer our sorrows and pain and we should also work to address the crisis and challenges in the lives of people around us.

The Speaker also participated in the Mahashivaratri fair organised at village Ravatha. Addressing the huge gathering present there, Birla said that each chapter of Lord Shiva’s life is a source of inspiration for us. “It gives us the message of service to humanity, love for all living beings, maintaining harmony and peace, tread on the path of righteousness and justice and oppose violence and injustice,” he said.

Participating in Hadauti Kesari Dangal and Rani Lakshmi Bai Award organized by Shree Mangleshwar Mahadev Vyayam Shala, Cantonment, he said that such events connect our youth with our spiritual culture and traditional sports.

“In Dangal, our daughters showed their strength,” he said, recalling the contribution of Baba Gopinath ji and Chaithmal wrestlers in promoting wrestling in Hadauti, including Kota. While wishing the players a bright future, he assured that whatever facilities they needed will be provided to them so that they do well in sports.
