Madhukar Gupta advocates ‘one nation one election’
Jodhpur: State Election Commissioner Madhukar Gupta, renowned internationally for his innovations and reformist thinking as the State Election Commissioner, described the Symposium of State Election Commissioners by ICPS as a step to give direction in view of the changing election process. The symposium at Jodhpur’s Indiana Hotel. In an exclusive conversation with First India, describing ‘One Nation One Election’ as a step forward, Gupta said that we should not hesitate to experiment for fear of failure.
Colin, the representative of ICPS said that India has its own history of democratic process. He emphasized on the rational use of technology while giving information about many challenges like deepfake.
Jodhpur Collector Gaurav Agarwal described the elections as the biggest exercise and emphasised a need to change according to the new trends in the digital age. He talked about conducting elections impartially.
