Linear accelerator to be installed in Kota government hospital

Kota: A hi-end linear accelerator (LINAC), an equipment to provide accurate radiation treatment to cancer patients, will soon be installed in Kota. Following the directions of the Central Health Welfare Department, a team of doctors from Tata Memorial Hospital on Wednesday inspected the super specialty wing of MBS Hospital and New Medical College in Kota.

The team inspected the hospitals and earmarked the place for installing the linear accelerator machine. The linear accelerator machine will cost around Rs 35 crores. Sources informed that with the efforts of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, the hi-tech machine will be installed soon. Project Dean of Tata Memorial Hospital Dr Kailash Sharma interacted with Principal of Medical College Dr Vijay Sardana during his visit. Dr Kailash Sharma said that the linear accelerator machine will be very beneficial for cancer patients and with the installation of the machine within one year, a new unit will also be established, in which all facilities will be available.
