LAWYER CREMATED; SOG TO PROBE SUICIDE CASE

Gharsana: Lawyer Vijay Singh Jhorad was cremated in Sri Ganganagar’s Gharsana town on Wednesday amid voices of protests against police. Lawyer Vijay Singh had allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself after being harassed by police. Later, his wife filed an FIR against the concerned police officials for harassing her husband due to which he committed suicide. Sri Ganganagar SP Anand Sharma said the cases will be investigated by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan Police.

The bar association and family members had demanded a government job for a family member, one crore rupees compensation and suspension of accused policemen. After rounds of talk between district administration and the bar association, it was agreed to give Rs 30 lakhs to the deceased family and suspend the accused cops. Singh allegedly died by suicide on Monday. However, no suicide note was recovered.
