Lacklustre Raj ranks 30th in Centre’s Jal Jeevan Mission
Jaipur: Despite several efforts, Rajasthan is not able to improve the ranking much in Jal Jeevan Mission, a campaign to provide tap water to every household. Rajasthan is still at number 30 among the States and Union Territories in the country. Although Water Supply Minister Mahesh Joshi is continuously monitoring, but the slowness of the officials at the lower level has slowed down the pace of the campaign. Under the JJM, 50.07 per cent rural households in the country have got tap connections. In less than three years, the figure of Har Ghar Jal reached 9.57 crore from 3.23 crore. Now more than 50 percent rural households in the country have tap connection.
