Kin end protest after govt assures Rs 15 lakh compensation, SIT probe
Didwana: The protest, which was going on for the last five days against the killing of two Dalit youths in Ranasar village of the district, finally ended on Saturday after positive talks between the family members and the Sangharsh Samiti in the presence of the police and administration.
It was agreed to form an SIT team under the leadership of ADG Law and Order Dinesh MN to investigate the matter and give compensation of `15 lakh each to the victim’s families and a government job on contract. After this the strike was called off and post-mortem of the bodies was done in Kuchaman Hospital and handed over to the relatives. Earlier, cabinet minister Govind Ram Meghwal had also visited Kuchaman to mediate but the family members refused to agree.
