Kids should be motivated to plant trees, says Birla
Kota: With the inspiration of LS Speaker Om Birla, the residents of Kota on Wednesday took a Bhagirathi pledge to make the ‘City Green.’ More than 175 social organisations, intellectuals and common people gathered in the city forest located in Amli-Rojdi on the occasion of the inauguration of the tree plantation campaign being run on the initiative of Birla.
“Nature conservation is the need of the hour. A permanent solution to the serious challenge of climate change is possible only by making the earth green. We all must plant a sapling, save it as a family member and preserve it till it becomes a tree,” said Birla. Birla said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given us a message to adopt a nature-friendly life. “There should be a sense of environmental protection in our thoughts and actions. We should discourage the use of plastic and all such items which harm the nature,” he said.
He said that nature, water, fire, air, earth etc. are worshiped in India since ancient times. “The way we encourage children to learn computer & new technology, we should encourage them to plant trees,” Birla said.
