‘It shows BJP respects people’s qualities’
Jodhpur: Union Jal Shakti Minister GS Shekhawat during his visit to Jodhpur, said that BJP is not a party inspired by politics but respects the quality of an individual. He said this while responding to a question posed by the media related to Bharat Ratna being awarded to MS Swaminathan. He said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed affection and respect to Swaminathan by honouring him with the award. Two former Prime Ministers Chaudhary Charan Singh and PV Narasimha Rao also got the awards which shows the large heartedness of the BJP.”
Regarding the party’s ‘Gaon Chalo’ campaign, Shekhawat said that the aim is to spread the ideas of BJP to the masses, to contact the people who have benefited from the Centre’s public welfare schemes and to identify those who are left behind. “This drive is being run to convey the decision of BJP govt in Raj and to thank people for their support in helping BJP form the govt. The drive will also help in upcoming LS polls,” he said. Shekhawat visited the residence of senior BJP media worker late Madan Borana and offered floral tributes.
