Illegal sand mining cases increased in Rajasthan due to delay in SC’s decision: CM Gehlot

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot claimed that cases of illegal sand mining have increased in the State due to the delay in the Supreme Court's decision. He said that the Apex Court took four years to lift the ban on gravel mining.

Gehlot stated that in Pali, common people had to bear the brunt of this and they had to pay Rs 20-25,000 for gravel, which originally costs Rs 5,000 only.

Responding to the opposition's allegations related to the alleged rise in crime and corruption in the State, Gehlot said cases are on the rise as the Rajasthan government has made FIRs mandatory in such cases and the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has intensified the action.
