If I’m Ravan, you become Ram and return Sanjivani scam victims’ money: CM
Hanumangarh: CM Ashok Gehlot hit back at Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Friday for calling him “Ravan”. “If I am Ravan, you become Ram and return the investors’ money,” said Gehlot while referring to Shekhawat’s alleged involvement in the Sanjivani Credit Co-operative Society scam.
He further challenged Shekhawat, saying, “If you throw stones at me, I will use those to build houses for the poor.”
Addressing a gathering after visiting Mehangai Rahat Camp at Rawatsar town of Hanumangarh, Gehlot said Shekhawat’s friends are in jail in connection with the scam and the Union minister is also likely to go to prison.
Gehlot said that Shekhawat says that he is not an accused. “Then why did he go to the High Court for bail? He should resign on moral grounds or the PM should sack such a corrupt minister. I might be a Ravana but he must pay the 2.5 lakh victims of the Sanjivani scam by selling his property. If you do so, I will call you Ram,” he said.
Gehlot also alleged that Shekhawat was in the main role of the conspiracy of toppling his government through rebellion by the Sachin Pilot camp. Gehlot also gave the example of not being involved in the conspiracy to topple the Bhairon Singh Shekhawat government and comparing it with the rebellion of the pilot camp against his own govt. At the same time, he indirectly praised former CM Vasundhara Raje and Kailash Meghwal, fueling political discussion. “Our 19 MLAs went to Manesar. The main role was played by Gajendra Singh. He lured the 19 MLAs. Amit Shah and Dharmendra Pradhan were with him,” he said.
Gehlot said, “The way I refused to cooperate in conspiracy to topple Shekhawat govt while being the PCC president. On the same line, if Vasundhara Raje and Kailash Meghwal said that there is no tradition of toppling the government in Raj by horse trading, then what wrong did they say?”
