HC grants relief to Hardik Pandya

Jodhpur: The Rajasthan High Court gave relief to cricketer Hardik Pandya in the matter of a controversial tweet case on the report of Jodhpur Police. The case is of 2018. DR Meghwal of Jodhpur had filed a case in Luni police station under various sections, stating that Hardik Pandya’s alleged tweet was a violation of the SC / ST Act. It was alleged that Pandya made derogatory remarks on Bhimrao Ambedkar in his tweet. Along with this, questions were also raised on law, constitution and reservation.

After filing of the case, a petition was moved on behalf of Hardik in which it was claimed that the Twitter account from which the controversial tweet was made is not his verified account, but a fake account in his name. The High Court has disposed of the case lodged by DR Meghwal against the three, after they were found ‘innocent’. Luni police in the final report said that the allegations against Hardik are unsubstantiated.
