‘Harassed’ for dowry: Lady jumps into water tank with 2 kids, all die

Jodhpur: A woman jumped into a water tank in the house along with her two minor sons at Bhation Ki Dhani of Shaitan Singh Nagar at Lohawat in Jodhpur. On getting information about the incident, the Lohawat police also reached the spot and got the bodies out of the tank.

The deceased Kanwar, 27, was married to Idan Singh about five years ago. She jumped into the water tank along with her sons Devendra Singh, 4, and 7-month-old Tejmal Singh. The mother-inlaw of the deceased had also gone to the neighbourhood at the time of the incident. When she returned, she looked for them but could not find them. The lid of the water tank was open and on peeping inside she saw the bodies. No FIR was given to the police by Monday evening. The reason for the incident was also not clear.

Kanwar’s parents lodged a case of dowry harassment.
