Guv pays tribute to Maharana Pratap, Bhagat Singh & others
Udaipur: Governor Kalraj Mishra on Saturday unveiled the battle tank ‘T-55’ at Pratap Memorial site in Udaipur. Before unveiling the statue, which is gifted by the Indian Army, the Governor also offered flowers on the statue of Maharana Pratap. In his address, Kalraj Mishra recalled the sacrifice of Maharana Pratap and said that he considers Pratap as the first freedom fighter.
“Maharana Pratap never compromised and he lived his life by protecting his self-respect by eating grass bread in adverse circumstances. Not only this, Pratap fought Akbar’s large army with his might. The inspiration to sacrifice everything for the motherland comes from Maharana Pratap only,” said Governor Kalraj Mishra.
The governor also honoured the families of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru in the programme. Present on the occasion, Udaipur royal Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar also addressed the audience and said that the Maharana Pratap Memorial Committee feels proud while honoring the families of the martyrs.
