Guv-designate Kataria gets warm welcome at his hometown Udaipur

Udaipur: After being appointed as the Governor of Assam, former Leader of the Opposition, Gulab Chand Kataria, arrived at his hometown in Udaipur on Saturday. He was given a warm welcome at the Dabok airport.

Hundreds of BJP workers welcomed him with slogans in his support. Kataria was made to wear a Mewari turban brought into the city in a procession.

An event was also organised in Govardhan Vilas area in his honour. Kataria said that a party runs not because of its leader but from its workers. Talking to the media, he said that he did not come from a family with a political background. “I joined politics for service and today I have got the responsibility of a constitutional post, so I will try to fulfill it well. A party runs with thousands and lakhs of its workers. PM Modi came after Atal Bihariji. After Bhairav Singh ji in Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje came. One who shows arrogance in politics, gets destroyed,” he said.
