Guv calls for developing strong system of internal security on borders
Bikaner: Governor Haribhau Bagade, addressing an internal security coordination meeting on the western border, emphasized the need for continuous development of a strong internal security system alongside vigilant border protection. He stressed the importance of engaging with border communities, acknowledging their vital role in national security.
Bagade arrived by helicopter at the BSF Sanchu post, located on the western border of Rajasthan near Pakistan. He thoroughly inspected the border area and reviewed the challenges faced. During his visit, he praised the BSF jawans for their dedication and commitment, and he honored the historical significance of Sanchu by visiting the local ‘War Museum,’ reflecting on past conflicts between India and Pakistan.
The Governor underscored the necessity for effective internal security strategies to complement border vigilance and prevent criminal activities. He called for regular meetings of officials in border areas to maintain dialogue on security issues and address any potential problems.
In a separate meeting with district-level officials in Bikaner, Bagade issued directives for a campaign to ensure that every child up to age 14 receives an education.
He stressed the collective responsibility to integrate nomadic and begging children into schools and to create a safe environment for girls.
Additionally, Governor Haribhau Bagade also called for proposals to improve sewerage, drainage, and road infrastructure, and to enhance connectivity of border regions with state and national highways, aiming to ensure that residents in these areas feel included in the state’s growth.
