Govt to increase OBC reservation upto 27%: CM

Mangarh (Banswara): In a masterstroke, CM Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday, announced that OBC reservation limit will be increased from 21% to 27% and 6% reservation will be given for basic OBC for which process will start soon. “The OBC class has been demanding for a long time to increase 21 percent reservation to 27 percent and to reserve 6 percent reservation for basic OBCs. It will be tested. The state government is in favour of conducting caste census in Rajasthan. It is the intention of the government that whoever has the right, should get that much right,” he said while addressing the World Tribal Day celebrations at Mangarh Dham in Banswara on Wednesday

Expressing deep concern over Manipur violence, Gehlot said that such incidents negatively impact country’s image. He urged PM Modi to solve this problem soon and restore peace in Manipur. Unveiling the logo of Annapurna Food Packet and Smartphone Scheme, Rahul Gandhi distributed the packet and smartphone to a beneficiary. CM Gehlot and Rahul Gandhi offered wreaths at martyr’s memorial at ceremony and also paid tribute to the martyred tribal devotees by circumambulating.

Earlier, Gandhi also visited the exhibition related to state govt’s schemes at the venue. Rahul Gandhi interacted with the women at the SHG stall.
