GEHLOT THROWS HINT OF STEPPING DOWN AS CM

Jaisalmer: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who was on a visit to Jaisalmer on Sunday amid the political stir in the state, said that the new generation should also get a chance. On the question of the national president, Gehlot said that no post is necessary for him. “I have been doing politics for 50 years and serving on constitutional posts for 40 years. It is in my mind that the new generation should get a chance. Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have believed in me. It is my duty to do politics by accepting what they say,” he told the media. Regarding the assembly elections in Rajasthan, Gehlot said that, “I have already told Sonia Gandhi in August that the next election in Rajasthan is important for the Congress. If Congress wins in Rajasthan, it will start winning in all the states. I have already told Sonia Gandhi that the next elections should be fought under her leadership so that the chances of winning will increase. Whether it is me or someone else, the face who can make the party win should be chosen.”

He visited and prayed at the Tanot Mata temple located on the IndoPakistan international border. On reaching Tanot, the Chief Minister was received by the district administration and Border Security Force officials and the BSF gave a guard of honour. Gehlot also paid homage to the brave martyrs by paying floral tributes at the Vijay Stambh. PCC President Govind Singh Dotasra and Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas also accompanied Gehlot.
