Gajendra Singh Shekhawat submits a memo against Gehlot

Jaipur: Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Wednesday accused CM Ashok Gehlot of hiding facts regarding criminal record in the affidavit while filing nomination from Jodhpur’s Sardarpura seat for the November-25 assembly elections.

He gave a memorandum to Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta in the Secretariat saying that Gehlot deliberately did not give information about the FIR.

He said that in the affidavit attached while filing nomination, Gehlot did n’t give information about two such cases which are cognizable & serious.

“In the affidavit filed along with the nomination papers, CM Ashok Gehlot hasn’t mentioned two such cases going on against him which are cognizable and connected with serious crimes,” Shekhwat told media in Jaipur. He said that Gehlot had full knowledge about the cases yet they weren’t mentioned in affidavit.

“One case is related to land scam & the other related to crime like robbery and sexual violence like rape. He has hidden information regarding both the cases in his affidavit which is cognizable under the Representation of the People Act,” he said.

“We have complained to the Election Commission that it should take cognizance of this and take appropriate action,” the Union Min added.
