Frightening situation in WB:Dhankhar

Udaipur: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Sunday said that governance is a matter of concern in West Bengal where he has seen the violence that went on after the elections.

“I cannot describe it. I have seen killings. The cost of voting in a democratic system can be death. I have seen this myself. I felt pain,” he said. Dhankar was in Udaipur to participate in a programme. He also visited Pratap Gaurav Kendra. While interacting with the media, Dhankhar targeted the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

He said, “I saw a frightening situation in West Bengal, saw formidable challenges. I have seen the rule moving away from the constitutional system.”

The WB Governor said that there is no rule of the law in his state but a rule of the ruler which in no way corresponds to democratic norms.

He said that 25 ViceChancellors were appointed without his approval as the Governor.
