‘Focus on strengthening traditional policing’

Ajmer: Newly appointed DGP Umesh Mishra on Monday said that focus will be given on making traditional policing more effective.

Mishra, who visited Ajmer police lines, told reporters that after Corona, there has been an increase in the number of economic crimes and professional criminals, which is a challenge for the police.

He said that there is no alternative to traditional policing and therefore his focus will be on strengthening traditional policing in order to make it more effective.

“The emphasis will be on improving the traditional policing as well as reducing the crime rate by adopting technology,” he said.

The DGP was welcomed by Ajmer IG and SP and other police officers. He also held a meeting with all the senior officers of the district and discussed crime-related matters.

Later, he visited the dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti and paid obeisance. He also visited Pushkar and offered prayers at Brahma temple and holy Sarovar.
