First organ donation in SRG medical college
Jhalawar: The first organ donation case was conducted at Jhalawar Medical College and Hospital. Bhuria Kanjar, 50, had died of brain damage while undergoing therapy. Following this, the physicians attempted to donate his organs and consulted with his family. The total work involved about four dozen doctors.
Two teams arrived in Jhalawar and surgically removed two kidneys and a liver from the body of the deceased Bhuria for organ donation. One kidney was sent to Jodhpur, while a liver and one kidney were given to Jaipur.
Following the donation of organs, the deceased Bhuria Kanjar’s body was returned to his family. The transplant would be performed at SMS and Jodhpur AIIMS.
