First India wakes ‘sleepy’ RIICO, saves unemployed youths from major scam!

Kota: In what could be termed as a vicious scam being run by scamsters in RIICO by cheating unemployed youth of lakhs of rupees on the pretext of providing jobs, appointment letters have been issued to the victims. First India on Thursday, busted the module and alerted the RIICO officials regarding the matter while carrying out its social responsibility.
Notably, the said appointment letters, issued to several youth, were issued from Jaipur Headquarters of RIICO for which the scamsters took anywhere from Rs 25,000 to 1.5 lakh. The matter came to light before First India’s reporter when youths, having been handed the said appointment letters were denied joining.

When the correspondent investigated the matter thoroughly, the names of peons Manoj Lakhara and Umashankar posted in RIICO HQs office of Advisor (Infra) Dr Arun Garg came to light. Manoj ‘provided’ the ‘job’ to the unemployed and got the money deposited into the accounts of Umashankar and Rajkumar. When the unemployed were not appointed, they started demanding money, following which the scamsters gave cheques in the name of Aruna Garg, which got dishonoured. When the correspondent asked the truth about the appointment letter to AGM Sunil Garg at Kota, the official immediately spoke to RAS Dr Arun Garg at Jaipur and sent him the appointment letter on WhatsApp.

Garg was shocked and surprised as soon as he saw the WhatsApp and said that this is the handiwork of the employees posted in his office. He also told that the cheques were of his mother’s and that he had brought the cheque book for updation at bank out of which 6 checks were torn following which, he informed the bank and stopped the payment. “I was very worried that how did the cheque reach the bank. Now the situation has become clear,” the official said. Notably, Manoj, who gave appointment letters to the unemployed, is a peon in the Jaipur office, and so is Uma Shankar. The name of another employee, Rajkumar, has also come up in the matter, who is also serving in the same office. Moreover, the appointmentsto clerical posts in RIICO offices were also given to the unemployed youths in places such as Itawa, Bundi and Sultanpur.

Meanwhile, when it became clear that a forgery has taken place, the victims made up their mind to register a case in police station. Assistant Manager SK Garg said that this is a sheer fraud and we are considering taking serious action. Additionally, in Jaipur HQs, there was a huge stir as soon as it was known that fake appointments were issued by using fake signatures & seal of an RAS officer. Meanwhile, an FIR was registered in the matter, while a press note was also issued clarifying that RIICO hasn’t conducted any appointments nor has there been any such development under process.
