Farmers demand subsidy increase in fencing scheme

Barmer: On Wednesday, members of ‘Rajasthan Farmers Commission’ including the chairman Mahadev Singh Khandela visited bordering Barmer district and took stock of the farmer’s issue. During the meeting farmers demanded to increase the subsidy under the fencing scheme.

Veteran Congress leader and commission chairman Mahadev Singh Khandela assured the farmers that government had formed the commission with a vision. Khandela said that every area has two aspects, first their issues and other their speciality.

The motive behind the commission is to take stock of the farmer’s concern and ensure a time bound solution on it. Currently the government is providing forty thousand rupees as subsidy under the fencing scheme.

Farmers, who are doing organic farming, demanded to issue certificates, benefit of insurance schemes and protection from stray cattle. Some farmers from the Gudamalani block also demanded to open krishi mandi there.
