EO, junior assistant held with RS 4L bribe in Jalore

Jalore: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested an Executive Officer (EO) and Junior Assistant posted in Bhinmal Nagar Palika while accepting a bribe of Rs 4 lakhs. The ACB sleuths informed that EO Ashutosh Acharya and Junior Assistant Jagdish were caught redhanded while taking bribes in lieu of issuing a deed of a plot. The accused had initially demanded a bribe of Rs 12 lakhs, but they agreed for Rs 5 lakhs after negotiation. “The complaint was verified and a trap was laid on Wednesday. EO Ashutosh Acharya and Junior Assistant Jagdish were caught redhanded while taking the bribe of Rs. 4 lakhs. There were complaints of corruption against EO Ashutosh Acharya in the past too. The residences of the accused are being searched,” police said.
